Our School for Life students love their sport – and so the return of sporting events to the school calendar has been met with great excitement across SFL’s campuses in rural Uganda.
Encouraging our students to pursue their sporting talents alongside their academic studies is one of the ways SFL enables its students to chase their dreams and realise a bright future for themselves.
Each SFL campus has recently hosted their very own Sports Day, where students spent the day showing off their sporting talents and enjoying a well-deserved break from their classes.
At the primary school campuses, students had a great time competing in games like three-legged races and an egg and spoon race at the Sports Day.
Meanwhile, at Mbazzi Secondary School, students competed in 10,000m, 5,000m and 100m races as well as games of soccer and netball as part of the Sports Day.
In more exciting news, 45 pupils from SFL’s two primary schools have qualified to participate in national level football and netball competitions.

The students who qualified will travel to the Ugandan city of Masaka on the 12th of September to compete in the national football and netball competitions, in which all 136 districts of Uganda will be represented.
Congratulations to all SFL students who qualified for the competitions and we wish you the best of luck in Masaka!
SFL would also like to congratulate its students on their recent efforts in the local athletics competition.
Three SFL students from Katuuso Primary School who participated in the competition even qualified for the national athletics competition which recently took place.
They represented School for Life alongside other students from the local Mpigi district in the competition, where they took part in events such as running, discus, long jump and hurdles.
In an incredible effort, SFL student Janepher placed third in the 800m event at the national competition.
We are so proud of our students for their efforts and the fantastic sportsmanship they have displayed throughout all of these recent sports activities.
We can’t wait to tell you about their next achievements on and off the sporting field!
