Your Impact in 2022

Last year kicked off on a high when we welcomed back over 90% of students after prolonged school closures - well above the national estimate of 60%.

And your support over the past 12 months has helped us bounce back from the impact of the pandemic. From exam results and sporting wins to vaccinations and community outreach programs, there is so much to celebrate.

Here’s a snapshot of the incredible achievements you made possible in 2022.

We hope you’re as proud as we are.

Your impact in numbers

Program highlights

Quality Education

  • The first cohort of students from Mbazzi Riverside High School (MRHS) successfully sat their Senior Four National Examinations.

  • 15 students from MRHS participated in the National Mathematical Contest.

  • Four students proudly represented School for Life at the National Athletics Competition with two winning places!

One of my children was given an opportunity to continue with their education free of charge through a School for Life scholarship. This became one of the greatest highlights of my life because it came at a time when I had lost all hope.

Student Wellbeing

  • 304 children were vaccinated against Measles, Polio and Human Papilloma Virus.

  • 1,555 students and staff received Dental Health Services.

  • Health talks were given throughout the year, covering topics such as personal hygiene, sexual health, malaria prevention and ebola disease response.

Capacity Building

  • 24 members of the School Leadership Team were supported with coaching and mentorship from the Uganda Management Institute.

  • Numerous training sessions were held including ICT, Fire Response and Safety, Effective Instruction Planning and Report Writing.

Community Engagement

  • The Menstrual Hygiene Management Program was a huge success, with 98% of respondents continuing to attend school during their period.

  • Outreach programs educated hundreds of community members on the effects of drug and alcohol abuse and Gender Based Violence.

Being a beneficiary of the Girl mentorship program is very significant to me because it has helped me realize that I have a purpose in life and I am worthy.
— Nabisaso Cissy, student at Mbazzi Riverside High School
