Sponsoring a School for Life student empowers a child with an education and opportunities for a life they could only dream of.

School for Life is lucky enough to have many wonderful child sponsors who support our students through their schooling.

Event manager and content creator, Eliza Reid, is just one of School for Life’s child sponsors who is kind enough to give one of our students the never-ending gift of education.

As well as being a successful event manager, Victorian-based Eliza runs the incredibly popular Bargain Homewares Instagram page, where she shares advice for seeking out the best deals on homewares, fashion and beauty products to her 110,000-strong followers.

In an incredible act of generosity, Eliza has chosen to put funds made through collaborations with other brands and creators on her Bargain Homewares Instagram page towards sponsoring a School for Life student.

Eliza has always hoped to be able to contribute in some way to School for Life, having first heard about the Foundation through her sister.

“My sister went to university with co-founder Annabelle Chauncy and she would talk to our family about the volunteer work Annabelle did… which then developed into her forming School for Life Foundation,” Eliza explains.

“Still to this day I am amazed that somebody so young could have the vision and drive to set up a foundation like this, and her passion to help people and selflessness is what motivated me and other members of my family to donate.”

Eliza is also passionate about the power of School for Life’s mission to educate poverty out of existence.

“I love that School for Life is based around education as educating people is so important,” Eliza says.

“I believe that people gain a lot of personal satisfaction from self-development and in turn it helps the community as people learn new skills, values and knowledge which can contribute to society.”

A keen philanthropist, Eliza hopes that her story will inspire other Australians to sponsor School for Life students to receive an education – and all the opportunities that learning brings.

“It’s important that we as Australians realise how privileged we are and that we support people in developing countries,” Eliza says.

“To imagine growing up without an education and getting married at 14 years old - I cannot even fathom this - and therefore hope I can make a difference in someone’s life through supporting (School for Life).”

We are so thankful for the generosity of Eliza and all of our other special child sponsors who support our School for Life students, so that they can chase their dreams and reach their full potential.
